CELL PHONE FREE SCHOOLS
MARSHFIELD R-I SCHOOLS
To minimize distractions, support student success, and comply with Missouri Senate Bill 68, Marshfield students will not be permitted to use Personal Electronic Devices during the school day. Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, these devices must be turned off, stored in backpacks, and kept out of sight for the entirety of the school day.
What is considered a Personal Electronic Device?
Cell phones, tablets, gaming devices, smartwatches, headphones/earbuds, and any other electronic device that can be used for communication, entertainment, or accessing the internet.
How will this policy be enforced?
Students who violate the policy will be reminded of the new law and warned. Repeat offenders will be asked to turn in their device to the office. Additional consequences may apply, as outlined in the Student Handbook. Continued violations may result in loss of personal device privileges while on campus.
